Advocacy
– Control the proliferation of small arms and light weapons in Nigeria through sustained advocacy for the full implementation of International Small Arms Control Standards (ISACS)
– Develop and implement arms control programmes using evidence generated through arms control assessment study
– Advocacy for greater involvement of women in arms control and disarmament programs
Strategy
– Adopt and implement relevant components of the UN Programme of Action to Prevent, Combat and Eradicate the Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons
– Strengthen Care and Support Systems for Victims as well as Increase capacity for violence prevention and victim
– Reduce risk factors for violence and rates of violence incidence
– Deepen awareness creation on Arms Trade Treaty and International Programme of Action on arms control (more…)
Capacity Building
– Economic empowerment of the disadvantaged through life skills acquisition and small enterprises development within Nigerian skills space
– Training on relevant tools (UNSCR 1325, NAP, VAPP Act, GOE Bill) to aid Protect the rights of children, women as well as the vulnerable and mitigate the impact of armed violence on them and the communities in which they live.
– Improve partnership and networking as well as communication with other organisations, partners, clients and stakeholders

TARGET GROUP
IANSA Women Network Nigeria emphasises local ownership. We create capacity building activities strategized to make the most impact and lasting results. Timely review meetings to ensure project delivery on scope, time, budget, and with shared values. Our programme approach is based on critical study and evaluation. Taking into account the local framework and mandate as well as engaging our technical expertise and that of relevant stakeholders in keeping with our mission and objectivies to promote sustainable development for women, children and youth, mainstreaming gender in all activities throughout the project life cycle.
PARTNERSHIP AND NETWORKS
